Shokudô is a modern Japanese izakaya blending traditional culinary techniques with a minimalist atmosphere. Helmed by chef partner Masatomo "Masa" Hamaya and centered around an open kitchen with a large robata grill as its focal point, the menu will feature ramen, yakitori, tempura, and hand rolls. The design draws inspiration from Japanese farmhouses and wabi-sabi principles, with warm wood tones, creating a serene and understated space. A lively Japanese beer garden tucked behind the restaurant, adorned with twinkling lights and lush greenery, offers a vibrant and inviting escape for all who enter. Located on iconic Upper King Street, Shokudô will bring a spirited energy to the neighborhood’s dynamic culinary scene.
